A car aircon that blows warm air often has low gas, a leak, or a worn part such as the compressor, cooling coil or condenser. A workshop usually checks for leaks first, then tops up the gas or repairs the part. Describe the symptom, such as weak cooling or a bad smell, and ask the cost first.

Aircon work begins with a check of pressures, leaks and the cooling fan. Common jobs are a gas top-up after a leak repair, cleaning the evaporator, and replacing the compressor, condenser or expansion valve.
