How much does car servicing cost in Singapore?

There is no single price for a car service. What you pay depends on your car, the kind of service and the parts and oil used. We do not list prices: the only reliable figure is a quote from the workshop for your car.

General guide in plain words. It is not a diagnosis and gives no prices: only a workshop that inspects your car can say what is wrong.

What decides the price

  1. Your car make, model and engine

Bigger engines, continental cars and hybrids often need more oil, specific fluids or special tools, which changes the cost.

  2. Minor or major service

A minor service is usually an oil and filter change with basic checks. A major service at a set mileage can add spark plugs, air and cabin filters, brake fluid, coolant or gearbox fluid.

  3. Engine oil grade and brand

Fully synthetic oil and oil approved by your car's maker cost more than basic oil. Your owner's manual lists the grade your engine needs.

  4. Parts: original, OEM or aftermarket

The same filter or spark plug can come from different makers at different prices. Ask which one the quote uses.

  5. Extra work found during the service

Worn brake pads, tyres or a weak battery may be found during the check. These are separate from the service itself, so ask for them to be quoted on their own.

How to get a clear quote

Ask more questions if: a service price looks very different from another quote for the same items, or a long list of extra work is added without photos or an explanation.

Questions

How often should I service my car?

Follow the service interval in your owner's manual, which is set by distance or time, whichever comes first. Short trips and stop-start traffic can count as harder use, so ask the workshop what suits how you drive.

Why do two quotes for a service differ?

They may use different oil, different parts or include different checks. Ask each workshop for a list of what is included so you compare the same thing.

Can you tell me the price?

We do not publish prices because they depend on your car and change over time. WhatsApp the workshop with your car model and mileage and ask for a quote.
